Stay compliant, satisfy your insurer, and know your building’s electrics are safe, without stopping your business to prove it.
Fixed wire testing (formally, an Electrical Installation Condition Report) is the periodic inspection of your building’s permanent wiring, distribution boards, circuits, sockets, lighting. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require electrical systems to be maintained safe, and an in-date EICR is the accepted evidence. Most insurers now ask for it at renewal; landlords typically require it under lease terms.

Your insurer or lease may require more frequent testing, we’ll check and diarise it for you.
Circuits are tested in planned phases, with dead testing scheduled out of hours where power-down would interrupt trading. You get a schedule in advance, engineers who understand they’re guests on a working site, and no unpleasant surprises mid-shift.
You receive a plain-English summary alongside the formal report: what passed, what needs attention (C1/C2/C3 coded), and a separate, itemised quote for any remedial work, which you’re free to compare. Once remedials are done, we issue the certificate your insurer needs and remind you before it next expires.
The law requires systems to be maintained safe; BS 7671 guidance intervals (table above) are the accepted standard, and insurers hold you to them.
Parts of the test are live and non-disruptive; dead tests are phased or done out of hours. Most clients notice almost nothing.
A report with C1 or C2 items is “unsatisfactory”, we make dangers safe immediately, then quote remedials itemised so you fix only what’s genuinely required.
Increasingly, both. Commercial leases commonly oblige tenants to maintain compliance; insurers may decline claims where testing has lapsed.
Yes. Evenings, weekends and shutdown periods are routine for us.
